Taiwo Awoniyi
Nottingham Forest has given themselves a huge boost in their fight to avoid Premier League relegation, winning 4-3 at home against Southampton.
Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored twice within four minutes early on in the game to give Forest control, with Morgan Gibbs-White adding a penalty to give them a two-goal lead.
Southampton responded with goals from Carlos Alcaraz and Lyanco, but Forest held on to their lead thanks to a 73rd-minute goal from Danilo.
The Saints' captain James Ward-Prowse added some late tension with a stoppage-time penalty, but the victory meant Forest lifted themselves out of the relegation zone to 16th with 33 points from 35 games.
Southampton, on the other hand, remain at the bottom of the table with 24 points and three games left to play.
