EPL: Awoniyi's Tap-In Lifts Nottingham Forest Above Liverpoo

Taiwo Awoniyi Celebrates Winning Goal vs Liverpool

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi's strike was enough for Nottingham Forest to end Liverpool's winning run on Saturday.

The first half was quite silent as the two teams couldn't find the net.

Liverpool came into the came as favourite with a streak of three wins including a 1-0 win over Champions Manchester City at Anfield.

The Reds' recent win is 1-0 over West Ham United during the mid-week fixture.

The Super Eagles' striker benefited from a spill over from Alisson Becker to tap in a goal to give Nottingham the lead.

The win lifted Nottingham Forest out of the relegation zone and levelled on 17th place with Aston Villa.

Liverpool were poor in front of goal and failed to find the net making it their third loss of the season.

The closest chance Liverpool had in the first half was an overhead pass to find Mohamed Salah who couldn't finish.

Harvey Elliot also had a close range shot but was cleared by face-cap wearing Dean Henderson.

The goalkeeper was crucial to Nottingham Forest win with several saves in the last minutes of the game.

Two clear headers from Virgil van Dijk and Salah were saved by Henderson.

They held to the goal and claimed a deserving win over Jurgen Klopp's side.
