EPL: Brighton Pull Off Comeback To Give Lampard's Chelsea 3-

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton & Hove Albion pulled off a stunning upset at Stamford Bridge as they came from behind to defeat Chelsea 2-1 on Saturday, further denting the Blues' hopes of a top-four finish under interim coach Frank Lampard.

Lampard, who rested several key players ahead of Chelsea's Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Real Madrid, saw his team take the lead through Conor Gallagher's deflected shot in the 13th minute.

However, Brighton, led by coach Roberto De Zerbi, showed their resilience and determination, dominating large parts of the match. Substitute Danny Welbeck scored the equalizer just before halftime, heading in off the post to make it 1-1.

The Seagulls continued to press and got the winner in the 69th minute when Julio Enciso unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25 yards, securing the victory for the Seagulls.

The win boosted Brighton's chances of securing European football for the first time in their history, as they climbed to seventh in the Premier League, five points ahead of Liverpool.

On the other hand, Chelsea's struggles continued as they remained in 11th position, with their only hope of silverware this season depending on a comeback in the Champions League against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Brighton's victory once again highlighted their potential as a formidable team in the Premier League, while adding to the challenges faced by Lampard and Chelsea in their pursuit of a top-four finish.
