EPL: Eriksen Returns To Football Amidst Cardiac Arrest Fears

Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen made two returns after completing a transfer move from Inter Milan to Brentford -- from a scary cardiac arrest which almost ended his life and to England where he had his best season.

Eriksen was almost pronounced dead on the pitch during the European Championship as physios said he was "not breathing" for some minutes. After several resuscitation procedures, he was revived but that meant the end of his Euros 2020 campaign.

The 29-year-old playmaker was then fitted with a pacemaker and continued to train with Inter Milan. The pacemaker meant he was not allowed to play in Italian football, but other leagues do not have the same rules.

Now he has signed a contract with Thomas Frank's side until the end of the season.

Brentford FC confirmed the signing of Denmark international midfield player Christian Eriksen, "subject to international clearance," according to the club statement.

Eriksen is a great addition to the Bees having just secured a return to English football top flight but they would want to take things easy with Eriksen over the fear of a possible relapse.
