EPL: Haaland Equals Salah's Record In Man City 3-1 Win Over

Erling Haaland

In a jaw-dropping display of goal-scoring prowess, Erling Haaland continued his assault on the Premier League on Saturday as he netted a first-half brace to equal Mo Salah's single-season goal-scoring record.

Haaland's heroics helped Manchester City secure a 3-1 victory over a beleaguered Leicester City, further solidifying his status as one of the most prolific strikers in the game.

With his two goals against Leicester, Haaland increased his goal tally for the season to a staggering 32, matching Salah's record for a 38-game season.

What's even more remarkable is that the 22-year-old Norwegian has eight games still to play, giving him a chance to set a new record in the remaining matches.

Haaland's incredible form doesn't stop there.

Just four days earlier, he became the first player in English football history to score a record 45 goals in a season in all competitions during City's Champions League quarterfinal first-leg win over Bayern Munich.

With his goal-scoring prowess on full display, Haaland's record tally has now increased to a remarkable 47 goals.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola showed his faith in Haaland by resting him for the second half of the match against Leicester, ensuring he gets some rest ahead of the crucial Champions League showdown against Bayern Munich.

Guardiola's side, unbeaten in 14 matches across all competitions, are in a thrilling race for the Premier League title, trailing leaders Arsenal by just three points with a game in hand.

John Stones scored the opening goal for Manchester City, while Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back for Leicester in the 75th minute.

However, it was an otherwise nightmare afternoon for Leicester's interim manager Dean Smith, whose team remains in 19th place in the league table, two points adrift of the safety zone in their battle to avoid relegation.
