EPL: 'Incredible' Watford End Liverpool's Unbeaten Run

Watford ended Liverpool’s unbeaten run as the dream of winning the English Premier League (EPL) without losing a match was dashed by the incredible display from  Nigel Pearson's side on Saturday at the Vicarage Road.

Ismaila Sarr 54th minute opener came as a shock but home side take the game beyond Jurgen Klopp's men after the same player doubled the lead in the 60th minute, before captain Troy Deeney added a third in a delicious second-half display from the hosts.

Speaking after their unbelievable defeat to the struggling Watford, Virgil Van Dijk who was at the heart of the defence applauded the opponent for showing class.

He said: "Credit to Watford, they played well, a lot of fight, very disciplined and scored three goals - that's the reality, we couldn't find a way through. It was difficult and we have to do better.

"Two throw-ins... we have to look at it, there is no reason for panic. We don't want to concede, we look at it but we don't have to panic.

"The record and the talk of the records is all media, we just try to win every game ahead of us.

"We will focus on the next game, the cup game, and we try to win there. We have to stay humble and work harder next game."

Liverpool fell five short of Arsenal's unbeaten record of 49 top-flight games but remain 22 points clear at the top the EPL table.
