Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane has set a new record, moving to second place in the all-time Premier League goal scorers list with his 209th Premier League goal.
Kane's goal helped Tottenham secure a much-needed 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace, ending their four-game winless streak.
Tottenham's win puts them in sixth place in the Premier League table with 57 points from 35 games, six points behind fourth-placed Manchester United who occupy the last Champions League qualification place. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace sits in 12th place with 40 points.
Despite conceding 15 goals in their previous four games, Tottenham had a solid defense and kept a clean sheet against Crystal Palace. In the first half, there were no clear-cut chances until injury time, when Kane headed in a cross from Pedro Porro to put Tottenham ahead.
Tottenham continued to dominate possession in the second half, hitting the crossbar with a Cristian Romero header, but were unable to extend their lead.
Son Heung-min missed a great opportunity to score, failing to beat Sam Johnstone in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Nonetheless, Kane's record-breaking goal was enough to secure the win for Tottenham.
