EPL: Kane, Skipp Heap Pressure On Potter's Chelsea, Tottenham Hold Top Four

EPL: Kane, Skipp Heap Pressure On Potter's Chelsea, Tottenha

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Chelsea 2-0 in the Premier League, extending the Blues' losing streak under coach Graham Potter and strengthening their own hopes for a top-four finish.

Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane scored second-half goals for Spurs, with Skipp's shot going in off the bar after Kepa Arrizabalaga failed to block it.

Chelsea spent £300 million on players in January and have only won two of their last 15 games in all competitions, and this was their fourth time in five league games without a goal.

The win keeps Tottenham in fourth place in the standings, four points ahead of Newcastle United, who have two games in hand.

Chelsea is currently in 10th position, 14 points behind Tottenham and 10 points clear of relegation.

The Blues won the Champions League under former coach Thomas Tuchel in 2021, but since Potter took over in September, they have struggled to maintain their form.

Tottenham assistant coach Cristian Stellini said that their desire was to win and fight for every ball.

He also said that he expected Antonio Conte, who is currently recovering from surgery, to be back soon.
