EPL: Liverpool Show Glimpse Of Onslaught At Leeds In 6-1 Win [VIDEO]

Liverpool put an end to their away day woes in spectacular fashion as they demolished Leeds United with a resounding 6-1 victory at Elland Road on Monday.

Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah were the stars of the show, each scoring two goals, while Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez also found the back of the net for the Reds.

Jota, who had not scored in over a year, opened the scoring with a well-taken goal, followed by Gakpo's controversial strike that Leeds claimed involved a handball from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the build-up.

Salah then set up Jota for his second before adding two clinical finishes of his own, taking his tally to nine goals in six league matches against Leeds, equalling a Liverpool record held by Gordon Hodgson.

Leeds briefly pulled one back through Luis Sinisterra, but Liverpool continued their onslaught in the second half.

Jota completed his brace with a composed finish, while Salah netted his second and Nunez also got on the scoresheet.

The 6-1 victory was Liverpool's first win in six games in all competitions and marked their fourth away win of the season.

The win saw Liverpool move to 47 points from 30 games in the Premier League, though they remain nine points behind Newcastle United in the fourth Champions League qualification position.

Despite the victory, Liverpool's chances of securing Champions League qualification still appear to be a long shot.

However, the performance against Leeds showed a return of the swagger that has been missing from their away games this season.

Jota, who had struggled with injuries throughout the season, expressed his relief at finding the back of the net after a long drought and praised the team's performance.

"It was a special second half, we played really well," Jota told Sky Sports.

"We kept possession and tried to find ourselves in good positions. We scored some great goals."

Leeds, on the other hand, continue to struggle and remain just two points above the relegation zone after 31 games.

Defender Robin Koch acknowledged the tough game against Liverpool and emphasized the importance of putting it behind them as they face crucial matches against Fulham, Leicester City, and Bournemouth.
