EPL: Two Medical Emergencies Interrupt Southampton vs Leices

English Premier League mid-week saw two medical emergencies which led to temporary suspending the matches between Southampton and Leicester at St Mary’s Stadium and Watford and Chelsea at the Vicarage Road on Wednesday.

While Watford's Premier League home game against Chelsea at Vicarage Road was suspended after 12 minutes on Wednesday because of a medical emergency in the stands.

The score at the time was 0-0.

No further details were available although, according to an Amazon Prime pitchside reporter, a fan was having CPR after suffering a heart attack.

The fan was taken to hospital and the game resumed after a delay of around 30 minutes.

Southampton led 2-1 at halftime but the players failed to emerge from the tunnel for the second period, with officials confirming there had been a medical incident in the crowd.

Jan Bednarek and Che Adams netted goals for Southampton in the first half, either side of a Jonny Evans strike for the visitors.
