Euro 2024: Eze makes England's provisional roster, Rashford,

Nigeria's Super Eagles may have finally lost the chance to cap Crystal Palace midfielder cum forward Eberechi Eze who on Tuesday was named by Gareth Southgate in England's 33-man provisional squad for the 2024 Euro Championship in Germany.

The England international of Nigerian descent whose parents are from the Southeast part of the country has had two caps for the English national team but those games were not in a major tournament but a friendly and a Euro Nations League qualifier.

Should the in-form star make the final 26-man squad and eventually play at the tournament which starts on June 14, Nigerians clamouring for the Nigeria Football Federation to hand him and fellow clubmate, Michael Olise, the chance to represent Nigeria will be heartbroken as he cannot play for Nigeria again under FIFA rules.

Arsenal forward, Bukayo Saka, another star that Nigeria lost to Eglan is on the list but there were no places for Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori who both had the chance to play for Nigeria but chose Egland.

Meanwhile, the duo of Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson were left out of the team entirely meaning they won't be part of the flight headed to Germany in about two weeks.

Rashford has been in poor form for several weeks and has struggled with fitness issues while Jordan Henderson who was the subject of abuse from the Three Lions' fans after his move to the Saudi Arabian league did not hit the ground running after his move to Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie.
