Euro 2024: Group A winners Germany, Switzerland settle for d

Hosts Germany came back from a goal down to snatch a crucial 1-1 draw against Switzerland, thanks to a stoppage-time header from second half substitute, Nicolas Fullkrug, that ensured they finished as Group A winners, with the Swiss taking the second place.

Germany were denied a 17th-minute goal when Robert Andrich's long range strike was overruled for a foul in the buildup.

However, that lead lasted only 11 minutes as Dan Ndoye secured an equaliser for his adopted nation with a slick finish.

The striker even struck the post two minutes after his goal for his team as the first half ended on that note.

Germany piled relentless pressure on the Swiss but most of their shots from distance mostly from Toni Kroos were largely off target.

Julian Nagelsmann effected some changes, including bringing on Fullkrug in place of Jamal Musiala and he rose highest to head home from a corner kick as both sides shared the spoils.

The win means Germany as Group A winners will face the second-placed side in Group C that contains England, Denmark, Serbia and Slovenia. Switzerland will play the second-placed team in Group B on the same day in Berlin, with Italy, Albania and Croatia their potential opponents.
