Euro 2024 Qualifiers: Debutant Joselu Scores Brace For Spain In 3-0 Win Over Haaland-Less Norway

Euro 2024 Qualifiers: Debutant Joselu Scores Brace For Spain

Joselu Emotional Debut

In the opening round of Euro 2024 qualifiers on Saturday, Spain clinched a 3-0 victory against Norway, who were missing their injured star player Erling Haaland.

Spain's Dani Olmo turned in Alejandro Balde's driven low cross on 13 minutes in Malaga, and debutant Joselu scored twice on his debut to give new coach Luis de la Fuente a win in his first match in charge.

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga also played a key role in Spain's win, making some crucial saves to keep the clean sheet.

Meanwhile, Wales managed to grab a stoppage-time equaliser to frustrate Croatia. Both teams battled it out at the Cardiff City Stadium, with Croatia taking the lead in the 77th minute through Nikola Vlasic. However, Wales refused to give up and pushed forward until they were rewarded with a late goal from Ben Woodburn, securing a 1-1 draw.

Spain will now face Scotland in their next game, while Norway will travel to Georgia without Haaland. Scotland also had a successful start to their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, defeating Cyprus 3-0 with two late goals from Scott McTominay.
