Europa League: Bodo/Glimt Hold Roma At Home In 2-2 Draw

Europa League: Bodo/Glimt Hold Roma At Home In 2-2 Draw

Roma vs Bodo

AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho fumed at the referees for denying his side two penalties following a 2-2 Europa Conference League draw against Bodo/Glimt.

Roma came from behind twice against the unfancied Norwegian side at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday evening, with Mourinho feeling his team were denied two penalties.

And with no VAR in Europe's third-tier competition, the Portuguese furiously slammed the officials after the match.

He told Sky Sports Italia: 'The result is harsh. The two penalties were clear as day. Clear as day... The reality is 2-2, they had two shots on target and two goals. We scored two goals and had two clear penalties denied.

'I don't know if they get referees who are poor and starting their careers for the (Europa) Conference League. I didn't say anything about the referee in Norway, because we lost 6-1, but here the two penalties were clear.

'It's true, (Nicolo) Zaniolo and (Tammy) Abraham are not in good shape. Only (Stephan) El Shaarawy is doing well in attack at the moment, (Eldor) Shomurodov did fairly well off the bench.

'We can look at those pragmatic statistics, but how many points did we lose because of refereeing errors? Look at the games with Juventus, Milan and Bodo/Glimt.'

Roma twice went behind after goals from Ola Solbakken and Erik Botheim, but twice levelled via El Shaarawy and, with five minutes left, Roger Ibanez to leave them second in Group C with seven points, one point and one place behind Bodo in first.

Mourinho's side, who have now only won once in their last seven games in all competitions, face Venezia away from home on Sunday in Serie A - where they currently lie fourth - in their last match before the international break.
