Europa League, Sevilla vs Roma: Record Holder Confronts Serie A Side In Germany In Round Of 16

Europa League's five-time record holder, Sevilla faces Roma in Germany on neutral ground, without any previous advantage since there had not been any Europa match after the coronavirus break. Roma enters into the match being an underdog with Sevilla being more successful in Europe compared to the Italian capital club.

This is the first-ever competitive match between Sevilla and Roma. Sevilla won their last two encounters in the Serie A defeating Lazio home and away to progress to the round of 16. They have reached the quarter-final of the competition on three consecutive occasions and becoming the eventual winner on each occasion.

Roma has won just one of their last seven encounters against Spanish sides drawing 1, losing 5. 

Roma has lost one of their nine matches in the Europa League(Won 4, Drew 4) and will be aiming to reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup/Europa League for the first time since 1998-99 (lost both home and away to Atletico de Madrid)
