Europa League: Ten Hag Praises Ronaldo's Commitment After Sh

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is totally committed to the club's project after scoring against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League on Thursday.

Ronaldo was on target for the Red Devils from the penalty spot in Moldova to help them to a 2-0 win.

Ten Hag reiterated once again that the club's legend is committed to the project after he was strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer.

"He's totally committed to this project, totally committed to this team, totally involved, he also has connections that are coming around him, and he is constructing connections, so I'm happy with that," Ten Hag said.

"He has to work really hard and invest to get the right fitness.

"He will score more goals. He's really close, when he gets more fitness, he will score more."

Jadon Sancho opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 17th minute with a tidy finish following a sublime pass from Christian Eriksen before Ronaldo scored from the spot after Diego Dalot was fouled by Patrick Kpozo.

Ronaldo's goal against Sheriff Tiraspol is his first in the history of the competition.

The former Juventus star has had to make do with a place on the bench this as Ten Hag favour a front three of Antony, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho in the Premier League.

Ronaldo was Manchester United's top scorer in all last season, scoring 23 goals in all competitions.

Manchester United now have three points in Group E, while Real Sociedad can boast of six points after beating Omonia Nicosia 2-1.
