Ex-Convict Nabbed In Osun For Attempted Kidnap

Osun Amotekun Corps has apprehended a 25-year-old individual, Mumini Oseni on suspicion of attempting kidnapping in Osogbo.

The Amotekun operatives apprehended the suspect as he was trying to abduct a young girl near Obanisola Street in the Powerline area of Osogbo on Saturday.

It was alleged that Oseni gave the young girl a N50 note and she raised an alarm which attracted the attention of her mother.

Confirming Oseni's arrest, the Corps Commander of Amotekun Corps in Osun, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi said the suspect fled the scene before luck ran against him.

"He was arrested after a complaint was lodged and the operatives swung into action immediately and he was apprehended in the act.

"During interrogation, the felon confessed to perpetrating the act and revealed that he was an ex-convict jailed for armed robbery," Adewinmbi said.

Adewinmbi said the suspect has been handed over to the police for interrogation and prosecution.
