Ex-footballer Believed Dead In 2016 Reportedly Found Alive I

Hiannick Kamba, a footballer who was believed to have died on January 9, 2016, after his involvement in an alleged car accident, has been reportedly found alive and well.

Allnews understands that many thought the former Schalke 04 youth team player had passed away in an accident back in his native Congo in January 2016.

At the time his club, eighth-tier side VfB Huls, paid tribute to the player and mourned his death.

But German tabloid newspaper Bild have now reported that Kamba has been spotted in the city of Gelsenkirchen, near Dortmund, Germany having returned to the country.

In fact, he is now associated with a fraud investigation.

Kamba’s ex-wife is now being investigated for fraud after she is reported to have cashed in on a six-figure life insurance payment after her husband’s ‘death’.

Kamba is even set to be a witness in the investigation, claiming he was unaware of his wife’s actions.

It is said he was abandoned in Congo with no documents and filled an application to return to Germany two years ago, where he has since returned to his old job as a chemical technician for an energy company.

Kamba was in Schalke’s youth system with Germany’s number one goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

“The accused is accused of fraud, but she denies the fact. The proceedings are still ongoing," prosecutor Anette Milk stated.

“[Kamba] stated that his companions had left him during the night while on a trip to the interior of the Congo in January 2016 and they took his papers, money and telephone.”
