Baba Ijesha was arrested on April 19, 2021, after the case was reported at the Sabo Police Station by comedienne Princess Comedian.
Yomi Fabiyi had reacted to Baba Ijesha's arrest, saying that if Baba Ijesha has not been convicted of the crime, he should not be judged and the crime should not be pinned to him.

AllNews Nigeria reached out to Yomi Fabiyi on Wednesday and while airing his thoughts on the matter, the actor said he was not going to judge him and that he was speaking for himself.

His words, "I am not going to judge him. I'm even speaking for myself. And I would not want to hurriedly judge him. I am following the matter and the young girl should be paid attention to.

"Her mental health and the fact that she needs justice. So, whoever is behind the defilement and every other allegation should be brought to book.

"I commended the police and I encouraged them to go on with the job, that they're doing the right thing."
Speaking further, he said: "I released a statement. As it is, it is too premature for me to draw conclusions because I have heard that a minor is involved, the police are investigating the case. I didn't know who the mother is as at that time.
"Secondly, I have not heard directly from Baba Ijesha. And if the video has been released or leaked online or by any means, I see it and I choose not to comment, that is when you will call me a hypocrite."
