'Expensive pain',  Wizkid speaks on struggles after mother's

Grammy winner, Ayo Balogun, popular as Wizkid has revealed his struggles after fans expressed concern over his appearance at a recent event in London. 

The 'Essence' crooner had attended the UK premiere of ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ in London, United Kingdom.

Videos of the singer at the event looking solemn circulated on social media on Tuesday, causing netizens to express concern over his appearance.

Reacting via a series of posts on his Instagram story on Wednesday, Wizkid revealed that he lost himself after his mother's death.

He described his mother's death as "expensive pain", expressing hope to "feel" himself again soon.

He wrote: “Look in the mirror and I don’t feel myself. Mama left me and I lost myself. I can’t wait to feel myself again. Life of a soldier! Military with it! Until then I dey slap away for free so leave me.

“And I’m thankful that you all are going through this phase with me. You seen me at my lowest now. When you see me back on my high no complain. Expensive pain.”

AllNews Nigeria recalls that Wizkid lost his mother in August 2023 at the age of 66.
