Explosions Rock Jordan City Of Zarqa

The city of Zarqa in the northeastern part of Amman, Jordan's capital suffered an explosion.

As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the explosion was yet to be ascertained.

Reports have it that the explosions happened at a military depot, with some residents compared the impact of the explosion to that of the Beirut port explosion.

Reports by Reuters confirmed that the explosions did come from the military ammunition depot.

The vicinity of the explosion was home to many army bases sitting on the outskirts of the city.

According to some residents in Zarqa, their widows were blown off and thick smoke billowed from the explosion site.

No official statement has been released on the explosion, but the state media said that the explosions happened at the Ghabawi area in the east of Zarqa.
