Facebook Floats New Earning Opportunity For Creators

Facebook Floats New Earning Opportunity For Creators

Facebook has launched a new professional mode for profiles that will enable qualified creators to earn money without the need to create a different Page.

According to Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, the feature is part of Facebook parent Meta's $1 billion investment in creators that includes bonuses for Instagram influencers and an expansion to the Stars program

Facebook added the professional mode profiles Reels Play bonus program that allows creators to earn up to $35,000 a month based on views of qualifying reels (videos). ). Previously, that program was only open to users with Pages. It'll be invitation-only for professional profiles to start with.

Facebook is planning to expand Reels to more countries next year and introduce new features that will allow creators to create longer 60 seconds reels, save drafts mid-creation and create compositions from multiple clips.

Professional Mode also lets profiles see the same kind of post and audience analytics data that Page users get, including shares, reactions and comments. You can also see your follower growth over time.

Facebook said that there's a caveat that, not surprisingly, involves privacy. Once you turn on professional mode, "anyone can follow you and see your public content in their feed."

Zuckerberg also stated that it recently introduced the Stars store website that lets creators earn cash from followers without paying app store commissions.

“We're introducing a Stars store website where people can buy Stars at lower prices, Stars bonus programs from our $1 billion investment in creators, and a fun new way for people to send Stars via a Stars Party,”

“December is also Stars Fest, which means sales on Stars, double earnings bonuses, creator competitions and exclusive creator livestreams,”

“More creator updates coming later this week including giving more creators access to monetization and insights on Facebook and new ways for creators to engage their community, have conversations, and grow their following. Plus new controls and support features.”
