Family Petitions Governor Sule Over Removal Of Gayam Lafia A

Abdullahi Sule

The families of the 4th and 7th Emirs of Lafia has petitioned Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State, seeking redress over the removal of Gayam Lafia as the District Head of Lafia North by the Emir of Lafia, HRH Justice Muhammad Sidi Bage (Rtd).

An appeal to Governor Sule was also made asking him to come to their aid and reverse the decision of the Emir, where he also divided the district into two (2) and appointed Alhaji Isiaka Dauda (Madakin Lafia) and Alhaji Abubakar Musa (Pakacin Lafia) as heads respectively.

This, they said was deliberate and aimed at rendering them useless and powerless.

According to available records, the Emirate was established in 1804 by some eminent Kanuri warriors across five different families.

Dunama, Musa Dan Jaji, Umar Sanda, Gayam Laminu and Musa Gana are now the Ruling Houses of Lafia Emirate.
