The 25-year-old musician, who recently spoke out about his battle with depression, released the music video for 'Soso' off his current album, 'Boy Alone.'
In July 2022, he released a body of work in which he shared his story and significant battles with fear, low self-esteem, and other issues.
Omah Lay is seen bowing down to a masquerade in several sequences in the music video, which has caused quite a commotion on social media, giving the appearance that he was involved in idol worship.
A line in the song that states "Soso take my agony away" has sparked speculation that he was pleading with the masquerade likely called "Soso," to take his pain away.
Though it is unclear what Omah Lay was attempting to represent in the video, it has triggered a flood of reactions on social media from Nigerians.
