Farmers, Herders Clash: Find Solution To Crisis — Arewa Group To Tinubu

Farmers, Herders Clash: Find Solution To Crisis — Arewa Gr

President Bola Tinubu has been tasked with finding a solution to the lingering crisis between farmers and herders in the northern part of the country.

The call was made by a non-governmental organisation, the Arewa Development Support Initiative (ADSI), with its President, Khuraira Musa calling on Tinubu to also tackle the out-of-school children issue.

Speaking in a statement, ADSI harped on the need for the federal government to bring farmers and herders to the table and deliberate the way forward.

According to Musa, it is heartbreaking that towns and villages have been deserted due to the ongoing crisis in the aforementioned region.

He further advised the present administration to put in place skills acquisition programmes to provide jobs for the nation's teeming youths.

“It is heartbreaking to see towns and villages deserted because of avoidable crises by groups that had always shared and lived together in peace for decades.

“It is also important that the government focuses on skills acquisition to help provide jobs for the teeming youths.

“Having them skilled in trade will improve their livelihoods and ensure capacity is built and sustained in an economy where the private sector drives the growth desired,” he stated.

“Arewa Development Support Initiative, ADSI, wishes President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kasim Shettima successful tenure.

“Nigerians are watching, are praying and are full of hope that the country’s best days aren’t far away,” he added.
