A father and his son have been confirmed dead in a septic tank in the Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Dailypost reported that the two died on Saturday while trying to manually evacuate the content of the septic tank, and were said to have been choked to death with the odour from the septic tank.
In addition, the reports claimed that while the father was inside the tank, he choked before his son went in to rescue him, and they both died in the process as help failed to come.
The smell of kerosene was gathered to have been the cause of the death of both.
Police personnel from the Choba police divisional headquarters evacuated the corpses from the area, while the state police command is yet to comment on the tragic incident.
