FCT Administration Demolishes Criminal Hideouts Near Tourist Site

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, on Monday, demolished suspected criminal hideout around the popular tourist site, Crush Rock in Abuja.

The site is one of the tourist sites receiving attention from private investors, unfortunately the activities of criminals and hoodlums were scaring tourists away.

The Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Ikharo Attah, speaking after the demolition said that the exercise was to ensure the safety of tourists.

“Coming here is to clear the road which is already getting congested and to also chase the hoodlums in this tourism site. The hoodlums have been snatching peoples bags and making them pay a certain amount.

"Many tourists had been harassed and molested by hoodlums at the site. The clean up we have done today would ensure the safety of tourists who would be coming here during this Christmas and the holidays,” he said.

He added that the administration will not relent in sustaining the operations and that the Minister of FCT is working to commence the construction of the Mpape Road projects.
