The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr Ramatu Tijani-Aliyu, has emphasized the need for collaborative partnership for the development of rural infrastructure.
Aliyu stated this during the commissioning of a road project at an Abuja-based private institution, Philomath University.
The Minister while addressing the audience, noted that the administration of the FCT had revitalised rural roads in the capital city in three years.
“We must collectively understand the need to establish functional partnerships for meaningful development, especially in the provisions of rural infrastructures with a view to establishing smart objectives in community service.
"I have come to the realisation that provisions of the rural road is not a cheap project, but requires huge resources in a cost-effective module.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am glad to inform you that the FCT Administration within three years, has progressed towards revitalising our rural roads in satellite towns across the six Area Councils.
"To this end, we invited members of the National Assembly to carry out oversight functions of some of our rural projects with a view to completing them before the end of this Administration.”
