The Federal Capital Territory Administration on Thursday removed over 30 houses sitting on flood plains in Trademore Estate to end flooding.

The FCT Minister Taskforce Team was led by Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to FCT Minister, Ikharo Attah.

Attah revealed that over 100 houses were earlier marked for demolition but 30 would be removed immediately.

According to him, the estate has been a theatre of flooding and the administration has been engaging residents for years.

Now, they had come to terms that the houses should be pulled down to end dangerous floods in the estate.

He also reiterated that the administration will not compensate anyone because there was no building plan, no approval, and no allocation on the flood plain.
