The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami has disclosed that the Kano Data Centre will be commissioned in June.

The data centre with 41 Terabyte capacity is being developed by the ministry's Galaxy Backbone.

Pantami made the disclosure while inspecting the project in Kano over the weekend.

He said the centre has a storage facility that can cater for both private and public offices.

The minister further expressed satisfaction over the work done.

He stated that, “We are embarking on these projects to provide more facilities for Private and Public storage, so that all information would be captured in the data center, which is the upgrade of the existing third tier center that we have in Abuja and Southern Nigeria."

He noted that while the commissioning of offices and other facilities will be done in March, the centre would be ready in June.
