Female Lawyer Shot Dead By Trigger-Happy Policeman In Lagos

The Christmas celebration turned sour for residents of Ajah area of Lagos State on Sunday when a female lawyer named Bolanle Raheem was shot dead by a policeman.

It was revealed that the tragedy left members of the community confused as the erring officer fled the scene of the crime.

However, he was caught and has been placed in detention by fellow cops.

Per a Punch report, Raheem, her sister, and four children were on the way back from an eatery in their car around 11 am when the police officer tried to stop them.

According to a source, the lawyer was attempting to make a U-turn beneath the Ajah bridge when the officer opened fire on her car.

The bullet hit the victim and she was rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.

The incident was confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who said that the cop was in custody.

“The officer involved in the shooting is an ASP; he has been arrested, detained, and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, for further investigations”, he noted.
