Noel Le Graet
Noël Le Graët, the former French Football Association (FFF) president, has resigned from his position amidst controversy and scandal.
The decision was made during an executive board committee meeting that lasted several hours.
Le Graët had previously stepped back from his duties in January, following criticism over his dismissive comments about Zinédine Zidane's chances of becoming the next France manager.
In addition to this, an audit had been launched into the organisation to investigate multiple allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour, which Le Graët denies.
The audit's conclusions were released just two weeks ago, accusing Le Graët of multiple instances of misconduct.
Despite these accusations, he briefly resumed his role as president for this morning's meeting, which would also determine the future of France's women's manager Corinne Diacre.
After just 40 minutes, Le Graët announced his resignation from the position he held since 2011.
His departure has sent shockwaves throughout the French football community, and fans are left wondering what this means for the future of the sport in the country.
The FFF will now have to elect a new president to lead them through these turbulent times, as they prepare for the upcoming season.
