FG Announces Free Emergency Medical Services for Nigerians

The Federal Government has said it will soon launch emergency medical and ambulance services across the country.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, said this during a retreat organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Healthcare Services on the amendment of the 2014 National Health Act.

The Minister added that the Federal Government was pulling all ambulances together to form the National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulances System (NEMAS), and it be launched within next month.

According to Osagie, Nigerians can access emergency ambulance service within minutes by dialing the emergency code 112 at no cost.
