The federal government of Nigeria officially began the 2023 Science, Technology, and Innovation Expo in Abuja on Monday.
The theme of the Technology and Innovation Expo is "Achieving Effective Economic Diversification in Nigeria through Science, Technology, and Innovation."
Chief Henry Ikoh, the Minister of State for Science, Technology, and Innovation (FMSTI), earlier provided a summary of the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation Exposition programme.
He said it is intended to strategically showcase the use of science for technological inventions as well as research and development products to attract investors.
He listed the expo's goals as encouraging collaboration between researchers, innovators, and investors with a view to commercialising research findings and innovations from Nigeria's research and tertiary institutions, as well as showcasing the nation's scientists, engineers, innovators, and inventors' capacities to support Nigeria's economic diversification.
He said the expo, whose earlier iterations had been producing the intended outcomes, would make sure that Nigeria became industrialised by the year 2030 and would be sustained to produce goods that could address national issues.
