The federal government has criticised Western countries for giving credence to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The admonition was given by the Minister of Culture and Information, Lai Mohammed during his engagement with international media organisations and policy institutes in Washington DC.
According to Mohammed, IPOB is a terrorist group but some Western nations still harbour its members and continue to deal with the proscribed group.

“IPOB is a terrorist organisation so declared by the Nigerian Government, yet some Western countries harbour them and have been dealing with the illegal body.
“They allow them to raise funds, some allow them to lobby their Congressmen and lawmakers and whatever fund they realise they use it to destabilise the country”, the minister said.
Mohammed further stated that it is hypocritical of Western nations to say they are fighting terrorism and still support a terrorist organisation.
