Citizens have been assured by the federal government that the Abuja-Kaduna train service will resume operations in less than two weeks.
The news was shared by the Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, on Thursday in Ibadan at the Railway station in Moniya.
It was Sambo's first inspection visit to the 157-km Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway.
The minister assured that everything has been put in place to ensure the safety of railway passengers across the nation and security on the train.
Sambo added that the federal government would improve security on the railway corridors.
“It is not necessary for me to share that date publicly, I don’t think that will help in running the service.
“Nigerians are interested in the service, in less than two weeks, before the month is over, so just be patient”, he stated.
