The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing has promised to repair damaged parts of the Gashua-Potiskum road with immediate effect.
Abubakar Aliyu, Minister of State for Works and Housing, made the pledge during an assessment visit on the road.
He said the ministry would work on the part damaged by flood while assuring motorists of the government's intervention.
Speaking through the federal controller of works in Yobe State, Olusegun Akinmade said, “The Gasua-Potiskum federal highway was recently damaged by massive flooding as a result of heavy downpour.
“The ministry would deploy the relevant agency to attend to the affected parts of the road in no time."
While revealing areas that needed more attention, he said the part is from Garin Gada to Tarajim along the Gashua-Potiskum highway.
He also reaffirmed the government's commitment to avert future inconveniences.
