FG To Rescue Nigerian Students Still In Ukraine

The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to rescue Nigerian students still trapped in Sumy, the north eastern part of Ukraine.

The evacuation of Nigerians from the war-ridden country started on Friday, March 4, with three batches of Nigerians arriving Abuja.

However, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has revealed that he has contacted Sumy on how to evacuate Nigerian students still stuck in the country quickly.

Through his Twitter handle, he said he has conversed with Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmitro Kuleba on the feasibility of evacuating Nigerian students.

A telephone conversation has also ensued between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the President of the Nigerian Students Union, Fehintola Damilola Moses on the evacuation.

The Nigerian Ambassador to Ukraine is said to be delegated to ensure the successful rescue of the students.
