FIFA 23 Removes Ronaldo From Man Utd, Becomes Free Agent

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially been removed from Manchester United's squad on FIFA 23 following his exit from the club last month.

After an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which Ronaldo spoke poorly of the United hierarchy, the 37-year-old's contract with United was terminated early, with the player and the club coming to a mutual agreement to end his second spell at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo returned to United in the summer of 2021 and scored 24 goals in the 2021/22 season, but the striker struggled for game time after the arrival of Erik ten Hag.

Used more off the bench, Ronaldo made his feelings very clear, especially when the striker walked down the tunnel early after refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur in October. It was a disappointing way for a club legend to end his United career, and he now finds himself without a club as the January transfer window approaches.

And, in the latest squad update, Ronaldo has officially been removed from the Man United team in FIFA 23.

The Portuguese international was the highest-rated player at the club, but a second downgrade to his rating has seen the striker drop from 90/99 to 88/99 since the game was released at the end of September.

This means that if you were to use the United squad in any FIFA 23 game mode, Ronaldo will no longer be at your disposal in-game. Ronaldo has been made a free agent in FIFA 23, meaning he is available to sign for any team in Career Mode, though you still need to pay his incredibly high wages.

If the striker is unable to find a new club by the end of January, it's more than likely that he will be removed from the Ultimate Team, meaning the Portuguese international won't be available in FUT Packs or the FUT Draft. Ronaldo has been linked with a host of clubs since his departure from United, including the likes of Al Nassr, Bayern Munich and Chelsea
