Fintech API Company OnePipe Launches Writing Challenge To Re

Fintech API company OnePipe has launched a press writing challenge to recognise finance-focused journalism and reward reportage.

OnePipe Operations Manager, Yvonne-Faith Elaigwu, in a statement in Lagos on Thursday, said that three finalists who would participate in the challenge would be awarded a million naira each.

Elaigwu said that the prized challenge was part of the company’s efforts to promote and inspire more educational reporting.

She also said that the challenge was about writing, with particular emphasis on enhancing the awareness and understanding of embedded finance.

She said that the eight weeks challenge, scheduled between Feb. 25 and April 14, would provide opportunity for the first three-place participants to win one million naira each.

According to her, OnePipe aims to foster a deeper understanding of the importance of embedded finance in improving customer experience and satisfaction.

”The company also emphasises the value of good coverage and narrative as a cornerstone for enhancing public awareness of financial technology.

”The objective of the writing challenge is to promote financial literacy and enhance the financial experiences of people in Nigeria.

“We hope that the articles, stories and news items produced by the press and media throughout this challenge will help everyone understand embedded finance and appreciate what the technology can achieve.

”Research shows that embedded finance will create 230 billion dollars income by 2025 across a variety of financial services,’’ Elaigwu said.

The manager noted that as the usage of the technology expanded and became increasingly incorporated into non-financial platforms, it was important that increased public awareness and understanding was generated.

Elaigwu further said that OnePipe was committed to supporting organisations to build integrated financial solutions that were suited to the needs of their customers, whilst promoting financial inclusion.

She, however, said that thorough grasp of the importance of the service was required to capitalise on the advantages of embedded finance.

OnePipe Chief Executive Officer, Ope Adeoye, said that the world needed a new type of financial services ecosystem.

Adeoye said that an ecosystem where everyone had a role to play and also some value to capture was embodied at OnePipe.

He said that the company helped businesses across sectors to enjoy profitable participation in the fintech ecosystem.

”With our technology, we turn complex infrastructure into simple code so that businesses can focus on building market, defining products, provide customers with credit, loan payment plans and seamless payment for services,” he said.

The writing challenge will be judged by a panel of experts in financial inclusion policy and digital money which includes, Prof. Olayinka David-West, Associate Dean, Lagos Business School.
