Fintiri Assures Continuous Support To Dangote Sugar Company

The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reassured of his continuous support to the Dangote Sugar Company in Numan local government area of the state. 

Fintiri stressed the need for the support of the company because of its contributions to the state's as well as the country's economy.

He made this known at the Crop season flag off and the outgrowers performance awards of Dangote Sugar company on Wednesday. 

The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Chief Crowther Seth commended the company for providing job opportunities as well as boosting the capacity of the sugar industry.

He added that his administration would continue to provide enabling and secured atmosphere for industries and other businesses to strive. 

The governor further described Dangote as a man of vision and major contributor to Nigeria's economy whose impact has been felt in the host community, Numan LGA.

He noted that youths from the host community have been engaged in the company as a measure to reduce unemployment in the state. 

While congratulating the six best outgrower farmers, governor Fintiri stressed that their successes were testaments of their hardwork, dedication and commitment.

In his remark, the president and Chief executive officer of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote said his vision is to change Nigeria trajectory to be self sufficient in sugar industry, thereby, ensuring job creation, and contributing to the gross domestic product of the country.

Dangote explained that the company is making massive investments in Adamawa through the expansion of the Dangote sugar company popularly known as Savannah, noting that the factory has been upgraded and increased its production from 3,000 matric tonnes of crushing per day to 6,000 a day.

According to him, further upgrade was still ongoing, targeting 15,000 tonnes a day.

Earlier, the minister of trade and investment, Otumba Niyi Adebayo commended Dangote, describing him as a leader in production of sugar in Nigeria.
