The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has commiserated with the family of late former deputy Speaker of the state's House of Assembly, Aliyu Isa Ahamdu.
Late Ahmadu died on Friday aged 50 at the Boshang Hospital after a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.
Following the news of the ex-deputy speaker's demise, Fintiri visited the family to sympathise with them.
The governor later proceeded to the palace of the Lamido of Adamawa, HRH Alhaji Muhammad Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, for the funeral prayer at the Modibbo Adama Central Mosque, Yola town.
The deceased was the deputy Speaker when governor Fintiri held the position of the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
Expressing his sadness over the demise, Fintiri said the deputy Speaker died at a time when the state needs him the most.
While comforting the family of the deceased, Fintiri said late Ahmadu has left a legacy worthy of emulation.
He further prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest while extending his condolence and that of the government and citizens of the state.
