Fintiri Commissions 60-Bed Capacity Cottage Hospital In Gire

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has commissioned the 60-bed capacity cottage hospital in Girei Local Government Area of the state.

The governor also commissioned staff quarters on the hospital premises. 

The commissioning ceremony took place on Wednesday in Girei.

In his address, Governor Fintiri revealed that Adamawa State health indices is rated the best in the northeast and five best states in attraction of investment in Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement by Muhammad Tukur, new media aide to the governor, on Wednesday. 

Fintiri maintained that his administration in the past four years has placed Adamawa on the trajectory of development anchored on eleven-point agenda.

He noted that the health sector was one of the points that has been prioritized by his administration.

He added that the Hospital is a project carefully selected and strategically earmarked to serve the people of Girei and its surrounding communities.

"While we continue to deliver credibly well on the other development agenda, health is one sector we shall continue to invest in with obligatory comfort because it directly translates to our collective wealth.

"The strategic objective is to lessen the burden of referrals on our people and decongest the tertiary health facilities which are in short supply and most important distant and costly for our people," the statement read.

Meanwhile, the State's Commissioner of Health, Professor Abdullahi Isa, revealed that the 60-bed capacity cottage hospital is fully equipped and furnished with modern medical equipment ready for use.

The Commissioner disclosed that the Governor has approved a new salary structure for healthcare workers due for implementation in the month of March and called on the people in the community to reciprocate the efforts of the Governor by voting for him massively.

Also speaking, Chairman of the LGA, Juda Amisa thanked Governor Fintiri for his intervention in the health sector.
