Governor Fintiri described the late Nathan as a successful administrator and educationist while commiserating with his family and associates.

According the statement, Fintiri said: “Rodney Nathan would be remembered for his exemplary lifestyle.

"He was a man who demonstrated great commitment to the service of the Union and the new thinking of our administration towards the growth and development of the Education sector as reflected in the various leadership roles he played in the promotion of Cordial working relationship and revamping of Education in Adamawa State."

He also described late Nathan as "A decent and diligent unionist".

He noted that the death was a major loss not only to his (Nathan's) family, the Bwatiye race, the Teachers Union in the North, but also the entire State.
