Fire Claims Six Lives In Jigawa

A fire incidence at a petrol filling station, Al-masfa Global Enterprise Nigeria Ltd. In Marke Town, Kaugama local government has led to the death of six persons.

According to a statement by the state police spokesman, ASP Shiisu Adam, the incidence occurred on Monday evening.

He said the blazing fire trapped the victims, who were later rescued with the help of their personnel, adding that two of them were rescued alive, but died at Hadejia General Hospital while receiving treatment.

“Some of the people who lost their lives during the ugly incident are; One Nasiru umar 'm' age 30yrs of kwanan Garki, Dahawi A hakilu 'm' age 35yrs of Garin Babale, Hamza Adamu 'm' age 15yrs of Marke town, Sule Hamza 'm' age 30yrs of Garin Babale, Idris Adamu 'm' age 25yrs of Jamaga towm all Kaugama LGA Jigawa State,” said the statement.

The corpses and victims are currently at Hadejia General Hospital.

The statement added that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida, while commiserating with the family of deceased and pray for the repose of the soul of the dead promised that investigation into what caused the incidence is still ongoing.
