The Nigerian Army on Tuesday reported that its headquarters complex situated in Abuja experienced a fire outbreak, AllNews report.
This was contained in a statement by the Nigerian Army Director of Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerimah in Abuja.
Yerimah, who confirmed the incident attributed the cause of the inferno to faulty electrical installations.
He revealed that the Army Headquarters complex is currently undergoing some renovation involving electrical rework before the fire erupted.
The statement read, “Electrical fault sparked a minor fire incident at the Army Headquarters Complex, Abuja, Tuesday morning.
“The incident which happened at about 10.15 am was as a result of a minor electrical fault in one of the offices.
“The Army Headquarters complex is currently undergoing some renovation involving electrical rework.

However, Yerima said that the Nigerian Army Fire Service Department has since put out the fire and normalcy has returned to the complex.
He added, “The Nigerian Army Fire Service Department has since put out the fire. No casualty was recorded during the incident and normalcy has since returned to the complex.”
Yerima, however, did not mention if there are casualties at the fire outbreak or the destruction of life and properties.
