Fire In Port Harcourt Refining Company Was Minor—NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said the fire incident that happened on the first day of the new year at the Port Harcourt Refining Company was minor.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday signed by Garba Deen Muhammad, the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, NNPC.

The statement reads; "A minor fire incidence occurred at the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) on Saturday and the fire was contained in less than two hours."

“The management of the refinery immediately mobilised the safety structure with support from the Federal Fire service and successfully brought the fire under control."

"No properties were damaged as the incident only affected the discharging truck and the pump bay."

He added that the management of the PHRC reassures residents in the neighbourhood that they have no cause to worry about the incident and also extend and wishes all Nigerians a very happy and fulfilling new year.
