Fire Razes Kogi Assembly Complex

Reports have revealed that an early morning fire engulfed the Kogi State House of Assembly complex located at Crusher Area, Lokoja.

The fire reportedly tore through the Chamber roof and caused irreparable damage to the floor of the house.

The Speaker of the house, Mathew Kolawole, and the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara, were among those who arrived early at the complex.

No one had been able to ascertain the cause of the fire as of the time of filing this report.

Speaking on the development, the Speaker of the house stated that he suspected sabotage but couldn't place where it may have happened.

"We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward", Kolawole added.

A source who chose anonymity disclosed that he suspected an explosion but couldn’t say who might be responsible.
