Fireboy DML has explained that contrary to public perception that a playboy means a man who breaks women's hearts, it actually means enjoying oneself.
Speaking in an interview with ace media personality Dadaboy Ehiz on Apple Music Africa Now, Fireboy mentioned that he does not define playboy as a guy who breaks ladies' hearts.
He said that he sees a playboy as a man who wants to come out of his shell, express himself, experience life and have fun.
“I want to just put out a disclaimer first. It is not the kind of playboy you think. It is not the type of playboy that everybody thinks,” Fireboy DML said.
“You know we use the word loosely — like a playboy, you broke my heart. This is just like a man that decided to come out of his shell to play, to express himself, to have fun, to experience life, to step into a superstar element.”
Fireboy also added that he has not really enjoyed the good life he has worked for in the past three years.
He mentioned that he is finally ready to step out and enjoy the fame now.
“I've been shying away from it for the past couple of years, the past three years of my life as a blown, established artiste.
"It's time for me to step out and actually enjoy the fame that I've worked for over the past three years.”
