Fireboy DML
Nigerian singer Fireboy DML has revealed why he does not make the mistake of telling his parents the actual amount he spends on purchases.
When asked on the 'Shop For Sneakers' show the highest amount he has spent on a shopping spree, the singer agreed that it was five figures upward.
He, however, said that he does not want to mention the actual amount because when his mother watches the video, she will call him to taunt him about it.
“I don't want to mention it because my mum's going to watch this and be like ‘Damola! Damola! The land I asked you to buy, you did not buy it. Now I'm hearing you spent five figures on shopping’,” he said.
He added that his parents do not understand why he has to spend his money on expensive things.
According to the ‘Peru’ singer, they simply would not grasp it no matter how much he tries to explain.
In light of this, he never tells them the actual amount he spends on things.
“As much as they understand how crazy the fame, and being famous and you have to drip, they would never understand how much we actually spend on these things.
“No matter how much you try to explain to them, they will never grasp.
“So, I prefer not to go there. When I get them stuff, I do not make the mistake of letting them know how much they are,” he said.
